Police shooting of Pace University Student Danroy Henry

I’ll tell you what drives me absolutely insane about these incidents: the inability of anyone to just TELL THE GODAMNED TRUTH about what happened.  The police instantly come out with some story that says a kid who was not involved in the fight or, as far as we know, running from the police for any reason, tried to run them down and hit 3 or 4 them so they had to blow him away to save their lives.  Yah, sure, that sounds perfectly reasonable.  Then, of course Danroy’s friends immediately come back with a story about oh, no, we just thought they wanted us to move out of the fire lane, so we did, and then a cop jumped on the hood of the car and shot Danroy.  Yah, that sounds almost as reasonable as the first story.

Give me a f#$*ing break.  Obviously neither one of these accounts is what happened.  And it’s not even like the stories are similar with small details changed.  One says he pushed me, the other says he punched me or something.  No, in one version you have an unprovoked vehicular rampage, and in the other version some cop goes bloodlust on a kid moving his car out of a fire lane.

What happened is bad enough.  Don’t drag it out and make the situation even worse for the family of the victim.  Have the balls to stand up and tell the truth about what happened, and then the world can pass its judgement.
